This is a collection of inspirational stories of women who transformed their lives. Martha Venditto is an author, advocate, mother and grandmother, and former executive. Martha has been involved in various non-profit organizations, many of which benefit woman and g
irls. She currently serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Board and is a member of the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation and Kiwanis. Martha is the founder of S.E.L.F. — Stand Empowered Live Free, a non-profit organization that assists people going through divorce. Martha is currently the District 1 Director for Soroptimist International North Atlantic Region.

In Memory Of
Vickie Ann Grosso Professor of nursing, associate dean and faculty dean at Essex County College Vickie Ann Grosso passed away on April 25, 2017, quietly and comfortably, with her family present. Vickie was a nurse for most of her adult life, graduating with a BSN from Rutgers University; she received a MSN from NYU and PhD from Kennedy Western University. As a graduate from Rutgers, she worked as a pediatric nurse at Jersey City Medical Center and Barnert Hospital for many years. She then transitioned as an educator of nursing, first at UMDNJ as an assistant professor for two years. She moved from the medical school to Essex County College, as a nursing professor where she served the students and the college as a faculty member, chairperson of the nursing program, associate dean of nursing and allied health, and as the dean of faculty in her 27-year educational career. Throughout her career, she was a member of many professional organizations and was the recipient of prestigious awards from Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Who’s Who in American Nursing from The Society of Nursing Professionals. Vickie also was active member of Soroptimist International of Suburban Essex Club for more than 20 years. Vickie is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Matthew, Michael, Jessica, Nicole and Benjamin; her grandchildren, Frank, Alex, Danny, Julieanna, Madison and Kaya; her parents, Richard and Dolores Grosso, and her brother, Richard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fla. from 4 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd. Royal
Palm Beach, Fla., at 10 a.m. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vickie Ann’s name may be made to Soroptimist International of Suburban Essex.
